I'm going through a bright colours phase....

I don't know what has happened recently, but I'm going through a real phase of LOVING a bold lip or eye colour.

Before now I've always been one to freak out when I hear the words makeup and bright colours together. Unless I'm preparing for some kind of wild fancy dress party.

I panic and tend to just go with what is completely natural to me. Natural being a very tame, nudey, basic look.
I don't know why. Maybe because I've been afraid that it'll go terribly wrong and that I know a nude is always a safe option?!

More recently things have changed! I've fallen in love with some of Mac's brighter lip colours and today I decided to explore, simply because I had a relaxed weekend planned and had some time to play around a bit. The result? I actually really love.

What's even better is that I used a really really cheap eye palette to achieve the eye look which was possibly my favourite part. The colour payoff from this Beauty UK palette was better than I imagined.

See below for products used & I hope it inspires you to play around too!

Eyes: Beauty UK posh palette. I simply followed a google image look of "rainbow eye makeup" and tried my best to blend it all together. It wasn't perfect but I found by adding a light amount of colour initially and building/blending I made it work. I then added some Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, and some Ardell Demi Wispies lashes.

Face: Mac face and body foundation tester (not so sure I was happy with the amount of coverage this gave me, it's very very light and not great for my uneven skin tone/oily tendency. I think it would be gorgeous on dry/normal skins though!)
Urban decay Naked concealer in Light warm to help add some more coverage. I then used my Urban Decay De-slick powder, Milani Luminoso blush and Soap & Glory Solar powder bronzer.

Lips: Mac Matte Royal & Mac Viva Glam Ariana Grande 2. LOVE these two alone, and combined.
