Hourglass
My Hourglass cosmetics obsession is growing!
•Ambient lighting powders• When I first got these, my honest thoughts were ...that I didn't quite know how to use them (but that they were beautiful and I needed them in my life!) after reading some reviews, I noticed I wasn't alone. Were they for setting? Highlighting? But now I've experimented I've realised just how great / versatile they are. I like to set my face lightly first with a matte setting powder and then go over the top with "dim light" on the outer portions / "diffused light" on the centre to brighten. Dim light is a slightly deeper/bronze shade (on my pale face anyway!!) Diffused light is slightly more yellow toned and better for brightening. It also makes a beautiful inner eye corner highlight. They are so smooth to apply and although they look shimmery in the pan/when swatched, they are beautiful & natural once on the skin. You could go in with a heavier hand however and add a bit more of a highlight if you wanted. They definitely don't stop oils coming through but they do add a lovely perfected finish to any makeup. I wore them on my wedding day and they photographed beautifully •Mineral Veil primer• helps to smooth the skin and minimise pores. It feels slightly silicone like but in a good way (not like cheaper silicone products) and helps to give a really smooth base. •The ambient light correcting primer (in luminous light)• does the same but also surprisingly mattifies (!) which I wasn't expecting from a product that claims to add a glow! I am certainly not complaining as it keeps my oily skin matte but also adds a subtle, natural sheen. All in all- I love every product and am definitely going to explore more of the range- especially their new foundation sticks and that DREAMY marble palette! 😍
