As much as I love a good cleanse, especially with a warm flannel... (sooo relaxing) I'd say on most days this step is probably the part I speed through the quickest unless I've got a bit more time to spend in the evening doing a nice facial massage with an oil to help myself relax. Generally I want something quick and convenient. I'm more fussed about what I put on my face to treat it afterwards. That's probably why I'm still on the search for a cleanser that I'll keep going back to. That being said it is a hugely important step, so here goes with my current stash:
1. Garnier Micellar water:
I absolutely love this stuff and have been through bottle after bottle. It's just so good at getting makeup and grime off. If you are wearing makeup I'd strongly advise going in with a second cleanse but it's a great first step. It can be a nice quick and easy cleanse for the morning if you're in a hurry too. They have loads of different versions to cater to your particular skin type and you can also get little minis which are great for travel. Swipe over the face with a cotton pad or two, and you're good to go with your next steps.

2. Tata Harper - Nourishing oil cleanser.
I don't think I would have ever splurged on this item without seeing it as part of the Caroline Hirons cult beauty box. I've always wanted to try all Tata Harper products but they are the kind of items that take a good amount of time to save up for! I finally decided that this was my time to try the range ... and it was so worth it. I've fallen deeply in love with this cleanser, it really is lovely as a second cleanse to give your skin a real treat. It's 100% natural and smells divine too. Apply and massage in, and then take off with a warm flannel. Heaven. I'm going to have to close my eyes and press purchase to other items in their range soon....

3. Vichy Normaderm Cleansing Gel
I really like this gel cleanser, and have used it on and off for a good few years. Again I'd say this is best as a second cleanse so you get the full benefit of the ingredients. I like to use it if I'm not in the mood for a lengthy routine in the evening. It claims to "eliminate impurities and unclog pores". I'd say it does just that. It's quick and easy to apply and rinse off and leaves your skin feeling fresh. It contains salicylic acid and glycolic acid too which is great for problematic skin. It's super gentle so you can use it every day.

4. Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel
This is an all time favourite of mine that I was lucky enough to win a year's supply of! I'm still working my way through and have also passed on a couple to family and friends. It's a gorgeous gel cleanser that turns to an oil when rubbed into the skin.
It contains pumpkin enzymes which helps to deep clean and remove dead skin cells, it also has lots of other lovely vitamins and oils to help with redness and inflammation, pigmentation and generally help to balance the skin. It's so hydrating too which is lovely especially in the winter months! Sadly last time I used it, I broke out which doesn't usually happen...I'm still trying to figure out if this was why, I am praying that it wasn't because this really is lovely, lovely stuff.

5. MV organics Gentle Cream Cleanser
This and the Pixi cleanser below were also included within my Caroline Hirons cult beauty box. I'm still trying this one out - and probably haven't used it enough to make a decision. It's filled with lovely natural ingredients and free from any nasties. I think the main reason I'm undecided is down to the fact that I generally prefer a cleansing oil to a cream....It definitely does not irritate my skin though and leaves it feeling squeaky clean and hydrated, so I I definitely don't dislike it. I'm not sure I'm wowed enough to buy it again - especially for the price and amount of product you get for it, but who knows..maybe with a bit more use I'll get into it. I would say that if you have really sensitive skin and want a very basic cleanser that does the job, this may be for you. I definitely think I'd like to explore more of their range though, especially their Rose booster which sounds incredible...

6. Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm
Unfortunately I really did not get on with this one at all, which is a shame as I usually love Pixi products, especially their Glow Tonic. I will likely be gifting it to someone with dry skin. Firstly I don't particularly like the floral smell. Secondly it reminds me of Vaseline in texture which made me nervous that it would clog my pores, and for my oily, problematic skin I was right, this just did not work. It is really heavy and greasy, and I found it SO difficult to remove, even with a flannel. The smell (which I personally didn't like at all) lingers too.
It contains some lovely ingredients, but unfortunately Shea butter just tends to break me out, which is one of the main ingredients in this.
I think if you have dry/normal skin and you don't mind strongly scented products you may love it though!
